CODE OF CONDUCT
The shall have power to regulate its proceedings and make standing orders with respect to AFED member schools operations and management.
Any member who does or attempt to do any act, counsel, persuades, encourages, organizes, mobilizes or pressures another member members voluntarily join(s) another to misrepresent accuse or distort the details, purports of any questions or issues deliberated by the association or the consensus reached thereon or member there present shall be liable to a fine of five thousand (N5000.00) only.
If any group or individuals under any guise carries out any wanton act or tortuous act against AFEDIAN MEMBER for reasons that he/she is a member of AFED, the association shall stand by giving him/her all necessary financial, moral and legal support and advise until the case is finally disposed of provided the association is promptly and duty informed of such criminal behaviour against against him or her.
Any member of the association found guilty of misappropriation of the association's money shall, not with standing the repayment of such money to the treasury be liable to a fine of five thousand naira (N5000.00) only or (20%) twenty percent of the sum misappropriated or which ever is higher and shall not be competent to hold any office what so ever in the association for a minimum period of ten (10) years.
Any member who accepts to admit a pupil(s) from another member school without express debt clearance shall collect such debt owed by such pupils and pay same to the member school where such debt was owed. his/her failure shall amount to his/her paying back with the school fees he/she collected from such pupil(s).where he/she fail to meet this obligation, he/she shall refuse such pupil(s) admission into his/her school advise same to go back to their former school to settle their debt before seeking admission to any school of their choice.
Any member who fails or refuse to carry out a given function/s or having in custody the association's property fails to surrender same to the General Secretary or the President or any other person(s) as determined by the association shall be liable to a fine of five thousand (N5000.00) naira and in addition pay for the cost of such property.
Negligence of duty shall be considered by the executive council and appropriate action taken depending on the degree of the offence.
Fighting among members is strictly prohibited. Any member found guilty in respect thereof shall be liable to a fine of two thousand (N2000.00) naira only without option or excuse.
Late coming to meetings at all levels shall attract a fine of fifty naira (N50.00) only except otherwise stated and agreed by the house at any level.
The President's Controller's Chairman's and coordinator's ruling is final on any matter respectively and any member who challenges his authority and fails to comply with such ruling shall be liable to a fine of five hundred (N500.00) naira only. Where an officer resigns from office without genuine reasons(s) he/she shall be liable to a fine of five hundred (N500.00) naira only.
Any member found guilty of insulting the house or the president, controller, chairman, coordinator as the case may be during meetings shall be liable to a fine of five hundred (N500.00) naira and in addition send a written letter of apology to the house or be suspended. While any proven case of threat to life gossips and blackmail against a member by another member shall attract a fine of Two thousand Naira (N2000.00) without option whether it is within or outside the meeting vicinity.
Any member found using obscene and abusive language on another member shall be liable to a fine of five hundred Naira (N500.00) only.
Appeal against punishments or cases could be made to the executive committee who, after considering same makes appropriate recommendation to the general house and where the matter is not settle, a consensus committee shall be set up for final resolution and their decision is final and shall be binding to all parties.
Any member shall confine his/her observation to the subject under discussion and may not introduce any matter irrelevant thereof.
It shall be out or order to attempt to raise for consideration any specific question upon which the association has come to a conclusion during a sitting except under special circumstances.
A member shall exhibit his/her desire to speak by the officer (President, Controller, Chairman, Coordinators) address his observation to him.
It shall be out of order for two or more members to rise at the same time to speak.
Any member deviating from the question under debate or provision of his section may be immediately called to order by the provost or by a member rising to a "POINT OF ORDER" direct attention to the point he desires to bring to notice and submit to the President to whom it may concern for a decision, after which he/she who was addressing the house at the time the question was raised shall be entitled to proceed with his/her speech giving effect to the ruling from the floor.
During any sitting all members shall enter and leave meeting venue with decorum.
Members shall not cross the floor of the meeting unnecessarily.
During any sitting, all members shall be silent.
Members shall not read newspaper in meeting and shall only read books and letters as may be connected with the business under debate.
Members shall not make unseemly interruptions while any member is speaking.
The President's ruling on any matter is final but where such matter(s) is/are controversial a “CONSENSUS COMMITTE� shall be appointed by the house to look into it and submit it's report to the executive committee within a stipulated period of time for final solution of the matter in question.
Whenever the president rises during a debate , any member(s) then speaking or offering to speak shall sit down and the meeting shall remain silent so that the president shall be heard without interruption. This is effective at all levels of governance in the association.
Strangers are not permitted to proceeding in the house except at the discretion of the president or whoever is presiding at all levels.
Failure to attend state, chapter or zonal meetings by executives for the 1st instance a fine (for 3 consecutive times. Failing to change earns suspension indefinitely.
Any delay in remitting dues, monthly, termly or yearly as the case may be by any level shall earn such officer at such level indefinite suspension.
Late coming to meetings at national, State, chapter and zone attracts fine to be determined by the respective tiers of governments.
Monthly reports from chapters to state of affairs in their respective domain including updates of new members and photocopies of meetings, minutes, names of schools and address of new members to be forwarded to state for appropriate action and documentation, for instance of membership registration certificate & ID cards with evidence of registration fee payment.
Zones & chapters must ensure that a new entrants into the business satisfies all the laid down condition of entry before opening for business. Otherwise Task Force Constituted for that purposed should ensure the closure of such schools.
All members of the association must attend all scheduled meetings of the association except where permission either verbally or written has been approved by the controller, coordinator, chapter chairman/chairwoman or president or to their secretaries and his must be indicated in the meeting of that day in the column of “absent with apology�.
No member of AFED shall belong to any parallel association for the purpose of continuity, consolidation, growth and security. Any member found guilty of this and is not prepared to retrace his/her steps should be excommunicated and must not be allowed to attend any of the association meetings, function or ceremonies. Any executive found aiding and abating such one shall be sanctioned with indefinite suspension for causing or constituting a breach of security to the association. Reported cases should be treated with urgent dispatch.
Ex-leaders who for one reason or the other constitute themselves as destablishing agents to the growth and stability of AFED shall lose their judiciary benefits from AFED.
All immediate past executives (President, Controllers, Chairperson and other officers must take immediate and appropriate actions not later than two weeks to hand over to the newly elected executives, after their official inauguration by the appropriate boy. ( Chapter to be inaugurated by state, zones by the chapters)
all national, state or chapter executives must attend their respective zonal, chapter meetings and must pay their termly dues to their zones as at when due, except such meeting date coincide with their own meeting at national, state or chapter as the case may be. Note that due respect must be accorded to positions at such meetings however, executive should know their boundaries not to commotions and confusions.
By reason of the fact that AFED caters for all unregistered schools operating in the land including some interested registered schools, it is imperative that all unregistered schools pay their dues and any resistance from any school(s) should be met with force by the appropriate task force to illicit cooperation.
AFED CORPORATE RESPONSIBILY: As an entity, the various executives at the various strata of organization (Zone, Chapter, State & National) must ensure they create a conducive working and social environment with all the organized institutions (traditional, legal, social, economic and political, media, educational, with their area of operation by picking interest and participating in some development efforts in the community. Interpersonal relationships with each sub-set of the system are highly encouraged. Press interviews, and release can only be done after due confirmation from the national/state, except mere coverage of events and matters not bordering on sensitive national or state issues.
Any school that charge daily schools fees shall be AFED members.
All new members must obtain and complete AFED MEMBERSHIP registration form, otherwise known as ELIGIBILITY FORM and which must be certified that all the prescribed conditions are met by the applicant before the prescribed fee shall be accepted. Applicant shall pay a non-refundable sum of N1,500.00 (N500 to state, N500 to chapter, N500 to zone) to collect form.
Poaching any member found to use under influence to canvass pupils/students or parents of pupils or students already in member schools shall be liable to a sanction/fine of N__________ and if after the first instance he/she persists, the association shall take a more drastic on the proprietor or proprietress.
(a) INDECENT BEHAVIOUR: Any proprietor found behaving carnal knowledge or harassing his/her female/male pupils or students sexually shall be expelled from the association and be handed over to the law enforcement agencies.
Minimum qualification a proprietor/proprietress (resident) should posses in order to open a school shall at least be (O/L, TC II)
Death: In the case of death, the association shall take care of such burial expenses as coffin and N50,000 cash. Each chapter member to pay N1000.
Harmonization: There shall be uniform school calender for all AFED member schools in terms of vacation, mid-term breaks and other holiday. This must however take into cognizance what the state ministry of education and the federal ministry of education has brought out. AFED exams board shall be charged with designing such with the approval of the executive council.
Social-economic misconduct: it shall be a serious offense if any member of AFED is found guilty or involved in any act capable of smearing or given AFED a bad image. Act such stealing, advanced examination malpractice, forgery, embezzlement, illegal collection of money from people, illegal misrepresentation of AFED for personal gains, unauthorized disclosure of information about AFED to the public, press, parallel association or to a person or group of persons to the detriment of AFED the culprit/shall be liable to a fine of N________________ and or an indefinite suspension from office if he/she is an office holder in AFED. Rumor mongers and peddlers of calumnious information and any other diversionary information shall be punished accordingly under this section.
New entrants into the business must ensue the followings guidelines are fully adhered to according to the guidelines of the ministry of education.
Must be
a. BUILDING: Purpose-built or converted as the case maybe with fence surrounding the premises. The shall be no commercial activities going on within the premises. This implies that all prefabricated buildings,churches,mosque,shops;classrooms raised on fences shall not be acceptable for registration.
b. There must be enough playground and play facilities for the children's recreation.
c. The building must consists at least twelve (12) classrooms for a start, which must be well ventilated for the health of the children.
d. The proposed school must ensure it is about 100 metres away from existing school.
e. No two or more schools close by may be allowed to put on the same kind of uniform. Where such situation arises, the one that is first established that has been using such said material may be adjudged the owner of such uniform, even when a change of uniform is involved.
48. MEMBERS, WELFARE & DEVELOPMENT
a. Pursuant to the provisions of the association's constitution, the association on a regular interval shall organize and organize and conduct seminars, workshops, lectures, symposia, debate, quiz contest, for purposes of educating, enlightenment, dissemination, sensitization of the members in order to maintan and improve on standard of education of member schools. To complement this , individual proprietor/proprietress is encouraged to register with tertiary institutions in order to improve their academic standing to be able to withstand the challenges of the profession. Members must see the profession not only as source of daily bread but most importantly, as builders of nations who must necessarily posses the where withal and the know-how to execute this noble and divine job.
b.REVOLVING LOAN SCHEME: the association shall organize and operate a revolving loan scheme, which every member of the association is expected to subscribe. The scheme, which shall be handled by the finance department of the association; shall provide soft loans to contributing members from time for the purpose of developing their schools. This shall be monitored and supervised by the committee charged with the responsibility to manage the collection and disbursement of the fund to approved applicants with a surety either in persons or viable assets. Full details of the scheme shall be given in the scheme brochure.
c. Housing warming, house opening, naming/graduation & burial ceremonies: in all of the above, the association shall not give the celebrant a specific sum of money but upon official invitation, the members of the zone, chapter, state/national shall make an internal arrangement by tasking themselves any amount they can afford to assist or support the affected member. However, all members within the zone must attend if the place is within the state and where it is outside the state, delegation not less than 10 members must be sent. Members who fail to attend are liable to N1000.00 fine if no tenable excuse was approved by the house earlier. Burial here refers to deaths other than those of proprietors or proprietress but of their relations or parents.
49 . SPORT & GAMES
For the purpose of unification, friendliness, consolidation, recreation and moral rectitude, the association shall organize and execute sports and sporting activities throughout its length and breadth in the state and latter beyond once in a year at a designated time. The game shall include football, table tennis, hockey, badminton, basketball, relay, track and field, and shall be handled by the sports committee with units at the chapters and zone respectively. The committee charge shall ensure it seeks sponsorship from all education related agencies and organizations to ensure a successful outings as well creating a good corporate personality for AFED.
AFED VENTURES
The association shall venture into procurement, production, marketing\sales of educational tools and materials at a competitive cost for the members and such material shall carry the names and emblem of the association. Materials such as attendance and admission registers, dairies, time-tables, chalk, log-book, visitors note books, educational policies state and federal and other stationery necessary for our operation.
BALANCE EDUCATION:
a. The association believes in balanced education, it shall embank on outside activities beside the classroom. To this end, the association shall from time to time organize state, chapter or zonal excursions to place of interest and significance such as resort centers, libraries, parks work places in industries. The association shall organize an end of every year get-together at a choice hotel and shall invite some government functionaries indefinable traditional rulers and cheifs with the presence of a select member of the media house. This party shall be jointly sponsored by the state, chapter, national and zone for the purpose of presenting awards to deserving members of the society and members.
MEETINGS
NATIONAL: There shall be a regular meeting of Nat-Executive Council once every month, made up of the Nat. Execo only, Nat General Executive council, made up of both Nat. Execo and the state controlles, once in a month.
STATE: There shall also be a regular meeting of the state Executive Council, made up of the state Execo only, once in a month, state Gen. Executive Council, made up of chapter Chairmen\Chairwomen once in a month and state Execo and zonal coordinators meeting once in three months. Times & date for such meeting shall be determined by various levels of authority.
AFED WORKING COMMITEES
The conduct\operations of the association shall be handled by competent committee set up to the effect; each of the committee whose members shall be drawn from within and outside the execo shall have a member of the execo as the chairman\chairwoman. The head of such committee is to report to the Executive Council the conducts\ operations of the committee is to report to the Executive Council the conducts\operations of the committee once in a month. The committee shall formulate, supervise and or execute programmes or projects that are of benefit to AFED and its members; however this shall be subject to the approval of the Executive Council, of such projects or programmes. Each of the committee shall be made up of at most seven (7) persons with appropriate qualifications and experience.

29. EXECUTION \ IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT\PROGRAMMES
Projects\ programmes that require special skill and expertise shall be contracted to a contractor(s) to handle for the purpose of effficiency and effectiveness and promptness in all jobs valued twenty thousand (N20,000) Naira and above.
LI interested contractor shall register with the finance committee of the association with a non-refundable sum of ten thousand (N10,000) Naira renewable every year before such contractor shall be considered for job after due competition. Contractor shall fill and return AFED contract Registration form indicating their areas of specialization. All jobs valued twenty thousand Naira and above shall be by cheque. Job mobilization shall not exceed sixty (60%) percent and the balance forty (40%) percent after delivery or commissioning.

ARTICLE 19
SECTION 3
BANKING SIGNATORIES
The association shall have three (3) signatories to her bank accounts at all the tiers of goverance. They shall be at the National, state, chapter and zonal.
They shall comprise the National level, the president, General Secretary and the Treasurer.
At the state, they shall be the controller, the General Secretary and the treasurer.
At the chapter level they shall cmprise of the chairperson, the General Secretary and the treasurer.
At the zonal level, they shall comprise of the coodinator, the General Secretary and the Treasurer.
Any one (1) of the above shall sign with the president\controller\chairperson\coodinator at all levels as the case may be withdraw any money of the association from the bank after approval by their executive members and the general house
Signatories shall change when the incumbent officers are voted out of office and the bank be notified accordingly.
ARTICLE 20
AFAC ( AFED FINANCE ASSITED COMMITTEE)
It shall be an offshoot of financial committee. To oversee the welfare of AFED members and the needy in the society. It shall coordinate contributions of members who are party to the monetary contribution. It shall be operated in the form of cooperative or thrift association. Loan shall be granted on the basis of ones contribution accoding to agreed terms by members. The membership is open to willing members from the zones and to be coodinated by the AFEC committee in the state. It shall have its own Bank account and signatories.
ARTICLE 21
TASK FORCE COMMITTEE
The State Chief Whip shall head the task force committee and its membership shall be appointed members from the zones in the state of operation. Each zone shall nominate (2) two members to serve in this committee.
They shall serve as the wheel of progress of the association in regulation, monitoring and supervision of private schools under the fold of the AFED.
They shall act as emergency rescue team to the if there are crisis.
They shall act on behalf of member schools to recover the debts owed by parents who migrate from one school to another to evade payment of their child/ward school fees.
ARTICLE 22
SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE
This committee shall constitute of only qualified teachers who are school owners (Proprietors/Proprietress) or operators.
They shall visit schools to intimate operators with day to day running of the affairs of school administration.
They shall offer advise to schools on how to meet with government requirements to secure approval of their schools.
They shall liaise with education ministry agencies to be acquainted with current rules and regulations pertaining to school establishment and in turn advice and monitor intending schools operators on the best approach on setting up a school.
They shall be link between the schools and the association and give the association detailed information regarding the functions of any school.
ARTICLE 23 SECTION 7
DISCIPLINE/PENALTIES
Disciplinary committee shall be charged with the duty of considering and determining any case received if alleged that a member misbehaved in any form.
Any erring officer or member shall be made to face disciplinary actions if found guilty in any of the followings:
any officer at any level who fails to attend meetings three consecutive times without due permission shall loose his/her position and bye-election shall be held for replacement.
When he/she become insane.
Convicted of a criminal offence involving dishonesty.
Embezzlement or stealing of association's money.
Disregard of the constitution and code of conduct.
Betrayed the association's trust.
Professional misconduct
incompetence and non performance (low productivity)

ARTICLE 23 SUB-SECTION 2
ABSENTEEISM
Every member shall compulsorily attend every scheduled meetings of the association at all levels as regularity and punctuality shall not be compromised.
ARTICLE 23 SECTION 3
PENALTY FOR ABSENTEES
Any Executive member at any level who is absent without notice from any meeting three (3) consecutive times shall be liable to a fine to be determined by the house at any meeting resolution.
Any member who is absent from any meeting shall be liable to a fine to be determined by the house at any meeting's resolution.
Lateness to meeting at all levels, members and executive alike shall attract a fine to be determined by the house, where lateness is persistence apart from the usual fine, such member or executive shall be an observer in the days meeting. Lateness shall be fifteen (15) minutes after reading and adoption of the minutes.
ARTICLE 24
PROPERTY
The association shall have the power to purchase or acquire any free hold, lease hold or other property for any estate to internet whatsoever and any rights or privileges over or in respect of any property, building offices, machine, vehicles, plants and any real personal property of right whatsoever which may enhance the value of the Association.
The Association shall have the power to apply, register, purchase or by any means acquire prolong and renew in Nigeria or elsewhere any patent rights, license, trademark and designs which may appear likely to be advantageous or useful to the Association.
ARTICLE 25
PATRONS/MATRONS
The association shall appoint patrons/Matrons from time to time and the number shall not be less than three (3)
They shall be men and women of proven integrity and of social standing in the society whose experience and expertise the union stands to gain from.
They shall act as fathers and mothers as advisers to the union.
They shall lead the union's delegation to functions as approved by the union.
They shall be men and women who command the respect of the generality of the members and are genuinely interested in the well being of the association's activities and programmes.
ARTICLE 26
PREROGATIVE
The association shall have the power to appoint any person's to assist the association in the discharge of any of its functions under the constitution.
ARTICLE 27
INTERPRETATION
In this constitution, unless it is otherwise expressly provided or the context otherwise required, any questions arising as to the interpretation of any section or sub-section of this constitution, the decision of the general house shall be final
ARTICLE 28
AMENDMENT
The constitution, any section or sub-section thereof is subject to modifications alteration or amendment as it may be deemed necessary in future by two third (2/3) majority of members present and voting at the general meeting, provided that sixty (60) days Notice in respect thereof is given by way of a written motion by any member or members as the case may be.

Lateness to meeting at all levels, members and executive alike shall attract a fine to be determined by the house, where lateness is persistence apart from the usual fine, such member or executive shall be an observer in the days meeting. Lateness shall be fifteen (15) minutes after reading and adoption of the minutes.
ARTICLE 24
PROPERTY
The association shall have the power to purchase or acquire any free hold, lease hold or other property for any estate to internet whatsoever and any rights or privileges over or in respect of any property, building offices, machine, vehicles, plants and any real personal property of right whatsoever which may enhance the value of the Association.
The Association shall have the power to apply, register, purchase or by any means acquire prolong and renew in Nigeria or elsewhere any patent rights, license, trademark and designs which may appear likely to be advantageous or useful to the Association.
ARTICLE 25
PATRONS/MATRONS
The association shall appoint patrons/Matrons from time to time and the number shall not be less than three (3)
They shall be men and women of proven integrity and of social standing in the society whose experience and expertise the union stands to gain from.
They shall act as fathers and mothers as advisers to the union.
They shall lead the union's delegation to functions as approved by the union.
They shall be men and women who command the respect of the generality of the members and are genuinely interested in the well being of the association's activities and programmes.
ARTICLE 26
PREROGATIVE
The association shall have the power to appoint any person's to assist the association in the discharge of any of its functions under the constitution.
ARTICLE 27
INTERPRETATION
In this constitution, unless it is otherwise expressly provided or the context otherwise required, any questions arising as to the interpretation of any section or sub-section of this constitution, the decision of the general house shall be final
ARTICLE 28
AMENDMENT
The constitution, any section or sub-section thereof is subject to modifications alteration or amendment as it may be deemed necessary in future by two third (2/3) majority of members present and voting at the general meeting, provided that sixty (60) days Notice in respect thereof is given by way of a written motion by any member or members as the case may be.

THE NATIONAL FINANCIAL SECRETARY
The National fiinancial secretary shall:
Receive all payment made to the association through subscriptions, levies, fund raising activities, gifts, sales or properties and others.
Hand over all money received in item (1) above to the Treasure within 24 hours.
Records and keeps the account of the financial transactions of the association.
Records and present the financial statement of account of the association to the congress at the Annual general meetings and other meetings, when called upon to do so.
Advise members on how best to invest and reinvest their funds to produce a better investment results.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 5
THE NATIONAL ASSISTANT FINANCIAL SECRETARY
The National assistant financial secretary shall:
Assist the national financial secretary in the execution his duties.
Performs all functions that might be delegated and assigned by the National Financial Secretary and the National President.
Represent the National Financial secretary and performs his roles when ever the National financial secretary is absent at meetings.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 6
THE NATIONAL TREASURER
The National treasurer shall:
Receive all monies, cheques or currencies received by the financial secretary.
Lodge the monies and the cheques to the association's bank account within 24 hours of receipt of such money.
Make payment for transactions of the association as directed by the executive.
Keep record and acknowlegde receipt of every monetary transactions of the association.
Present financial record at Annual General Meeting and other meetings and on demand by the executive.
Be a signatory to the association's accounts.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 7
THE NATIONAL PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER
The National Public Relation Officer shall
Be the image maker of the association (AFED)
Communicate to members of the association all information from the National Executive Council through the National General Secretary in matters relating to meetings, congress, and all ceremonies.
He shall liaise with and educate the public on matters relating to AFED.
Be responsible for all publications of AFED.
Take any other responsibility assigned by the National Executive or the president.

THE NATIONAL INTERNAL AUDITOR
National Internal Auditor shall:
Examine and audit all the account books kept by the National Financial Secretary and treasurer.
Prepare an audit report of the fianancial position of the association.
He\She shall report directly to the National executive when he shall be called upon to do so before\after the annual general meeting.

The welfare officer shall:
Head the welfare committee and shall be responsible to the executive.
Recommend Financial assistance to AFED members during the times of sickness, bereavement and emergency needs.

Inculcate in memebers the spirit of savings and self-reliant.
Work out ways and means of raising funds to assist members and to carry its functions.
Recommend and advise on issues affecting members' welfare and benefits.
Act on guidance and councillor to members when ever the need arises.
ARTICLE 10 SECTION 3
ROLES OF EXECUTIVE AT STATE, CHAPTER AND ZONAL LEVELS.
STATE CONTROLLER
The state controller, chapter chairman, zonal coordinator shall:
Perform the roles of the National president at their levels of administration viz, state, chapter and zones.
The state controller shall report to the president.
The chapter chairman shall report to the state controller.

DEPUTY CONTROLLER
The state Deputy controller, chapter vice chairman, zonal vice coordinator shall:
Perform all the roles of the National Deputy President, chapter and zonal levels respectively.

ARTICLE 11
DISSOLUTION OF EXECUTIVES
The executives at all levels stand to be dissolved at the expiration of the tenure of office of the serving officers.
The President shall dissolve the zones as well as the chapter and elections conducted into them before the state dissolution. After the election into the state executives, the National executives shall be dissolved in that order.
ARTICLE 12 SECTION 4
ELECTION
Election into the executive council shall be in a manner determined be the executive council at a general meeting.
The appointment and inauguration of the electoral committee must have been made four (4) months before the expiration of the tenure of the current executives.
Election must have been conducted three (3) months before the expiration of the tenure of the current executives
All offices except the external Auditor shall be elected. Electon of officers shall be conducted on simple majority vote from registered financial members.
No serving officers shall conduct election for the vacant positions.
Bye-elections shall be conducted in the event of resignation, failure to perform, when a vote of no confidence is passed on an elected officer or at an officer's demise.
Any aspirant for any executive position shall be approved or sponsored by his\her zone and chapter.
ARTICLE 12 SUB-SECTION 1
DUTIES OF ELECTION COMMITEE
To conduct a free and fair Election for the Association in accordance with the election provisions on elections.
To print election material.
To conduct the inauguration and swearing in ceremony of officers.
To ensure a smooth hand over of Governance to the newly elected officers.
ARTICLE 13
TRUSTEES
The trustee of the Association for Formidable Educational Development shall be all past presidents and incumbent president according to companies and Allied matters Act No 1 of 1990 part C and by appointment at a meeting of the National Congress.
Such Trustees here in after referred to , as the “TRUSTEES� shall be known as THE REGISTERED TRUSTEES OF ASSOCIATION FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED).
The TRUSTEES may hold office for life but a trustee shall cease to hold office on any of the grounds.
A. Resigns his or her office
B. Death of the trustee
C. Is officially declared bankrupt.
D. Convicted of a criminal offense, involving dishonesty by a competent court of jurisdiction.
E. Is recommended for removal from office by the board of Trusteea and majority vote of members at any National general meeting of the Association (AFED) duly held in strict compliance with the procedure.
F. Ceases to reside in Nigeria.
G. It shall be possible in future by two third (2\3) majority of members present and voting at the annual general meeting, provided that sixty (60) days notice in respective thereof is given by way of a written motion by any member or members as the case may be.
The incumbent president shall be referred to as the president \ Chairman Board of trustees.
ARTICLE 14
OBLIGATIONS BY MEMBERSHIP
DUES: Every registered members shall pay a termly yearly dues of one Thousand two hundred naira ( N1,200) or three Thousand six Hundred Naira (N3,600) respectively as subscription to the association, to be paid to the zone next term september 2006.
Every registered zone shall remit to the chapter on behalf of its registered members a certain percentage of the stipulated amount to the chapter. The chapter shall without delay remit a certain amount to the state and in turn the state shall remit a certain amount to the National as the case may be.
If the association is in financial difficulties to execute any of its projects, a reasonable amount of money shall be levied on each registered member to discharge such project\s.
Remittance of funds from the zone through to National shall be on or before mid-term break of every term when paying termly, and on or before mid-term of first term of every new academic year when paying yearly.
ARTICLE 15 SUB-SECTION 5
GENERAL WELFARE
Any officer or member who is on official assignment for and on behalf of the association shall be entitled to the association's protection.
Any officer or member who suffers any harm, injury or disability in the cause of his/her assignment for and on behalf of the association shall be indemnified and the degree of indemnity shall be determined by the house.
Every act of any officer or member of association officially performed for and on behalf of the association for and on behalf of association shall bedeemed to be the act of the association.
Any officer of the association on successful completion of his/her tenure shall be awarded a CERTIFICATE OF MERIT. Ceremony shall be organized to honour him \ her the state with the full participation of all members at all levels with gift of cash and or kind provided there is no reported case of financial impropriety.
ARTICLE 15 SUB-SECTION 1
BENEFITS
Any member who loses his\her, wife\husband shall be entitled to cash donation to the tune as decided by the house.
The association shall delegate members to attend the funeral of the deceased member's wife or husband and shall be responsible for their transports to and from the venue, if the corpse is taken outside the state where the deceased resides. If the deceased is to be buried within the state where he resides there shall be mass attendance by members.
The money to be used for funding burials of members wife \ husband shall be drawn from CONTIGENCY FUND A\C which every member shall pay the sum of five Hundred Naira (5,000) yearly. Out of this sum, one hundred Naira (100) shall be retained at the zone, one Hundred Naira (100) retained at the chapter while the sum of three Hundred Naira (300) be remitted to the state and National.
Should and active member of the association suffer and loss either to his\her health in case of an accident and to the school in case of fire out break, such member shall be assisted by cash and kind as may be directed by the house depending on the extent of loss or damage.
ARTICLE 14 SUB-SECTION 2
ATTENDANCE AND BENEFIT
To qualify for full benefits under this constitution, all members shall attend a minimum of at least 2\3 of all stipulated meetings within a year from the zone to the National as the case may be. Except expressly noted by the house concerning one's inability either by illness or cases beyond one's control and this shall be communicated to the various levels of authority. He\She shall as well be financially up to date.
Any member whose attendance to meetings fall short of the shall have 75% benefits only.
Any member who has no record of attendance and is financially up to date be entitled to 50% benefits only.
ARTICLE 16
LOAN SCHEME
Loan grant shall only be operated within the chapter and zone where the officers shall attest for, beneficiaries.
ARTICLE 17
DEFAULTER
Without prejudice to the constitution, a defaulter shall be a member who fails in arrears of monthly dues and levies for a period of six months.such a member shall not be entitled to any benefit from the association.
ARTICLE 18
INVITATIONS
The association shall honour invitations ONLY on the following:
Death of a member \ child.
Marriage of a member \ child.
House warming.
Naming ceremony \ child dedication.
The association shall extend fraternal feeling in sharing of sympathy and joy with members in other invitations not listed under this constitution as the occasion shall warant. Cash donations to such invitation s shall be determined by the house resolution but there shall be mass attendance of members to such ceremonies.

The executive committee shall select two indigenous Banks as the association's banks. Consequently the various state, local and zonal chapters shall adopt such banks as their banks.

PREAMBLE
We the entire members of the ASSOCIATON FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED) operators of private Nursery, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Allied education institutions, do hereby make, enact and give unto ourselves this constitution, to promote, provide, harmonize and guarantee good governance built on love, equality and justice for all.
As stakeholders, this constitution shall explain the administrative set up and authority governing the association. The association is non-political but purely humanitarian and education aiding with the desire to improve and enhance education in Nigeria and world at large.
ARTICLE 1 SUB-SECTION1
NAME:
The name of the association shall be known and called ASSOCIATION FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, thereafter, to be known and referred to as (AFED).
ARTICLE 1 SUB-SECTION 2
MOTTO
The motto of the association shall be "TOWARDS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND EFFICIENCY".

Association for formidable Education development (AFED) is a professional body and not a profit making association.

The association seal shall be kept in custody of the General Secretary who will produce it whenever it is required by the executive council of the association.

CITATION
This constitution may be cited as the constitution of Association for FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED) National 2006.
The provisions of this constitution shall come into force from the 1st day of January, 2006.

THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The association shall have four (4) tiers of government with the National Executives as the apex ruling body. Directly under this are the state Executives, which shall be in the state headquarters of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The chapter executives shall be directly under the state Executives and under the chapter Executives are the Zonal Executives.
ARTICLE 3
CONSTITUTION
This constitution is supreme and its provisions shall have binding force on all members of the association irrespective of status. It shall have the force of the law from the date and time it shall be adopted by at least two third (2\3) majority of the members present at the congress where it shall be read and cited as the constitution of Association for Formidable Educational Development ( AFED)

AIM AND OBJECTIVES
To promote unity, cooperation and friendly atmosphere among members schools.
To promote creativity in the educational system to guide, motivate, encourage, assist and give technical advise for the development of member schools to meet set standards
To solicit for fund and educational aid and accept same from individuals, government, local and international bodies, groups and organizations for the benefit and improvement of member schools.
To promote the progress and mutual co-existence of members and assist where possible in contributing positively to the solid educational well being of the society.

MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the association shall be open to male\female with the intent to establish and run a school and must have the interest of the child at heart from cradle, irrespective of Race. Nationality, Religion, Tribe. He\She must be ready to establish, run and manage school in Nigeria.
ARTICLE 5 SUB-SECTION1
REGISTRATION
A prospective member shall be sponsored by two bonafide members of the associations (AFED) as referees with a non-refundable registration fees of (N ).
He \ She must have completed the registration \ Application form, obtainable from the Zonal chairman\secretary with a non-refundable fee of N500.00.
He \ She must have attained the age of twenty (20 yrs) and above.
He \ She must accept the association's constitution supremacy in all his \ her dealings with the association.
ARTICLE 5 SUB-SECTION 2
QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS FOR ELECTION
To be eligible for nomination and election into an executive office, a candidate must have actively involved in the affairs of the association in the zone and local chapter for a period of two (2) years at the zone and 3 years at the chapter, and 4 years at the state\national. He\She must have served as one of the executive in the association in any level.
He\She must be mentally sound.
He\She must be a bonafide and financial member of the association.
He\She must be endorsed by his zone.
He\She must be transparent, intelligent, dynamic, diplomatic and consistent at all times
He\She must not be owing the association money at the time as nomination and election or thereafter.
He\She must be proprietor \ proprietress.
The President, Deputy president, General secretary, as well as the controller, Vice controller, General secretary at the National, state and chapter shall possess a minimum degree\NCE certificate in education or post graduate Diploma in education.
Any candidate standing for nomination and election into office other than those mentioned above must have a minimum academic qualification of O\level or its equivalent.
At the state level, he\She must possess a minimun of NCE\OND certificate as well as at the chapter level.
Candidates for 8,9 &10 above must attach photocopies of their curriculum vitae to the application form for the CTC perusal and confirmation, failing which, such candidates stand disqualified instantly.
ARTICLE 6 SUB-SECTION 1
MEETINGS
There shall be meeting at the various level of the organization (National, State, Chapter and Zone). The time and date such meetings shall be determined by them at those levels

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS
There shall be an annual general meeting at the National level only. It shall be convened by the National President and at a designated location determined by the National Executive council.
The state general meeting shall be convened by the state controller and its executive members and shall be held in the state capital and at designated location determined by the executives.

CONGRESS
Congress shall be convened at all levels (National, State, Chapter and Zone). It shall embrace all members of the association from all levels. It shall discuss among other things ways and measns of moving the association forward.

The resolutions, decisions and bye-laws taken at the meetings shall be binding on all members of the association.

TENURE OF OFFICERS
An officer shall hold office for FOUR YEARS ( 4 YRS) in the first instance and shall be eligible for re-election for the second term (2nd ) and shall not stand for election for the 3rd term in any particular position \ post \, he \she have served. This provision is on subject to amendment.

The National president shall:

Direct all day-to-day affairs of the organization.
Present the presidential report and address at the annual general conferences
Represent the association at any important occasion or ceremony.
Performs all other funtions, which the annual general meeting or the Executive council shall specify.
Delegate duties to the National Deputy president, other executives and members of the association.
Set up, after due consultation with the members of the executive council, Ethics and Disciplinary committee and any other committee.
Be a signatory to the association account and preside over all monetary transaction of the association.
Checkmate the excuses of the state, Chapter and Zonal Executive from time to time to ensure or reference of stds and progress of the association at all levels.

THE NATIONAL DEPUTY PRESIDENT
The National Deputy President shall:
Be the head of the National secretariat.
Supervise the running and maintenance of the national secretariat.
Arrange for all general annual meeting, conferences and National Executive meetings
Convene meetings as directed by the National president.
Prepare minutes of all annual general meetings and other meetings
Give report of every activity of the association at the annual general meeting, conferences,other meetings and activities.
Be the custodian of the association cannon seal and other related documents
Be responsible for all correspondence on behalf of the association
Represent the association at any important occasion.
Be a signatory to the association's account.

THE ASSITANT NATIONAL SECRETARY
The assistant National secretary shall:
Assist the National Secretary in the execution of his\her duties.
Perform all other functions that might be delegated and assigned by the National President.
Represent the National Secretary and performs his \ her roles when ever the National Secretary is absent at meetings or occasion

PREAMBLE
We the entire members of the ASSOCIATON FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED) operators of private Nursery, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Allied education institutions, do hereby make, enact and give unto ourselves this constitution, to promote, provide, harmonize and guarantee good governance built on love, equality and justice for all.
As stakeholders, this constitution shall explain the administrative set up and authority governing the association. The association is non-political but purely humanitarian and education aiding with the desire to improve and enhance education in Nigeria and world at large.
ARTICLE 1 SUB-SECTION1
NAME:
The name of the association shall be known and called ASSOCIATION FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, thereafter, to be known and referred to as (AFED).

MOTTO
The motto of the association shall be "TOWARDS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND EFFICIENCY".

The slogan shall be:

The national headquaters of the association shall be situated at Abuja while the state headquaters shall be situated at the state capitals.
The chapters and zonal headquaters shall be situated at their respective areas of operation.

NATURE
Association for formidable Education development (AFED) is a professional body and not a profit making association.

ASSOCIATION SEAL
The association seal shall be kept in custody of the General Secretary who will produce it whenever it is required by the executive council of the association.

CITATION
This constitution may be cited as the constitution of Association for FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED) National 2006.
The provisions of this constitution shall come into force from the 1st day of January, 2006.

THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The association shall have four (4) tiers of government with the National Executives as the apex ruling body. Directly under this are the state Executives, which shall be in the state headquarters of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The chapter executives shall be directly under the state Executives and under the chapter Executives are the Zonal Executives.

CONSTITUTION
This constitution is supreme and its provisions shall have binding force on all members of the association irrespective of status. It shall have the force of the law from the date and time it shall be adopted by at least two third (2\3) majority of the members present at the congress where it shall be read and cited as the constitution of Association for Formidable Educational Development ( AFED)

AIM AND OBJECTIVES
To promote unity, cooperation and friendly atmosphere among members schools.
To promote creativity in the educational system to guide, motivate, encourage, assist and give technical advise for the development of member schools to meet set standards
To solicit for fund and educational aid and accept same from individuals, government, local and international bodies, groups and organizations for the benefit and improvement of member schools.
To promote the progress and mutual co-existence of members and assist where possible in contributing positively to the solid educational well being of the society.
