THE NATIONAL FINANCIAL SECRETARY
The National fiinancial secretary shall:
Receive all payment made to the association through subscriptions, levies, fund raising activities, gifts, sales or properties and others.
Hand over all money received in item (1) above to the Treasure within 24 hours.
Records and keeps the account of the financial transactions of the association.
Records and present the financial statement of account of the association to the congress at the Annual general meetings and other meetings, when called upon to do so.
Advise members on how best to invest and reinvest their funds to produce a better investment results.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 5
THE NATIONAL ASSISTANT FINANCIAL SECRETARY
The National assistant financial secretary shall:
Assist the national financial secretary in the execution his duties.
Performs all functions that might be delegated and assigned by the National Financial Secretary and the National President.
Represent the National Financial secretary and performs his roles when ever the National financial secretary is absent at meetings.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 6
THE NATIONAL TREASURER
The National treasurer shall:
Receive all monies, cheques or currencies received by the financial secretary.
Lodge the monies and the cheques to the association's bank account within 24 hours of receipt of such money.
Make payment for transactions of the association as directed by the executive.
Keep record and acknowlegde receipt of every monetary transactions of the association.
Present financial record at Annual General Meeting and other meetings and on demand by the executive.
Be a signatory to the association's accounts.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 7
THE NATIONAL PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER
The National Public Relation Officer shall
Be the image maker of the association (AFED)
Communicate to members of the association all information from the National Executive Council through the National General Secretary in matters relating to meetings, congress, and all ceremonies.
He shall liaise with and educate the public on matters relating to AFED.
Be responsible for all publications of AFED.
Take any other responsibility assigned by the National Executive or the president.
ARTICLE 9 SECTION 8
THE NATIONAL INTERNAL AUDITOR
National Internal Auditor shall:
Examine and audit all the account books kept by the National Financial Secretary and treasurer.
Prepare an audit report of the fianancial position of the association.
He\She shall report directly to the National executive when he shall be called upon to do so before\after the annual general meeting.
ARTICLE 9 SUB-SECTION 9
THE NATIONAL WELFARE OFFICER
The welfare officer shall:
Head the welfare committee and shall be responsible to the executive.
Recommend Financial assistance to AFED members during the times of sickness, bereavement and emergency needs.
Organize periodic welfare activities like senimars, Workshops and lectures for the benefit of members of the association.
Inculcate in memebers the spirit of savings and self-reliant.
Work out ways and means of raising funds to assist members and to carry its functions.
Recommend and advise on issues affecting members' welfare and benefits.
Act on guidance and councillor to members when ever the need arises.
ARTICLE 10 SECTION 3
ROLES OF EXECUTIVE AT STATE, CHAPTER AND ZONAL LEVELS.
STATE CONTROLLER
The state controller, chapter chairman, zonal coordinator shall:
Perform the roles of the National president at their levels of administration viz, state, chapter and zones.
The state controller shall report to the president.
The chapter chairman shall report to the state controller.
ARTICLE 10 SUB-SECTION 1
DEPUTY CONTROLLER
The state Deputy controller, chapter vice chairman, zonal vice coordinator shall:
Perform all the roles of the National Deputy President, chapter and zonal levels respectively.
Report to the state controller, chapter chairman, zonal chairman respectively.
ARTICLE 11
DISSOLUTION OF EXECUTIVES
The executives at all levels stand to be dissolved at the expiration of the tenure of office of the serving officers.
The President shall dissolve the zones as well as the chapter and elections conducted into them before the state dissolution. After the election into the state executives, the National executives shall be dissolved in that order.
ARTICLE 12 SECTION 4
ELECTION
Election into the executive council shall be in a manner determined be the executive council at a general meeting.
The appointment and inauguration of the electoral committee must have been made four (4) months before the expiration of the tenure of the current executives.
Election must have been conducted three (3) months before the expiration of the tenure of the current executives
All offices except the external Auditor shall be elected. Electon of officers shall be conducted on simple majority vote from registered financial members.
No serving officers shall conduct election for the vacant positions.
Bye-elections shall be conducted in the event of resignation, failure to perform, when a vote of no confidence is passed on an elected officer or at an officer's demise.
Any aspirant for any executive position shall be approved or sponsored by his\her zone and chapter.
ARTICLE 12 SUB-SECTION 1
DUTIES OF ELECTION COMMITEE
To conduct a free and fair Election for the Association in accordance with the election provisions on elections.
To print election material.
To conduct the inauguration and swearing in ceremony of officers.
To ensure a smooth hand over of Governance to the newly elected officers.
ARTICLE 13
TRUSTEES
The trustee of the Association for Formidable Educational Development shall be all past presidents and incumbent president according to companies and Allied matters Act No 1 of 1990 part C and by appointment at a meeting of the National Congress.
Such Trustees here in after referred to , as the “TRUSTEES� shall be known as THE REGISTERED TRUSTEES OF ASSOCIATION FOR FORMIDABLE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (AFED).
The TRUSTEES may hold office for life but a trustee shall cease to hold office on any of the grounds.
A. Resigns his or her office
B. Death of the trustee
C. Is officially declared bankrupt.
D. Convicted of a criminal offense, involving dishonesty by a competent court of jurisdiction.
E. Is recommended for removal from office by the board of Trusteea and majority vote of members at any National general meeting of the Association (AFED) duly held in strict compliance with the procedure.
F. Ceases to reside in Nigeria.
G. It shall be possible in future by two third (2\3) majority of members present and voting at the annual general meeting, provided that sixty (60) days notice in respective thereof is given by way of a written motion by any member or members as the case may be.
The incumbent president shall be referred to as the president \ Chairman Board of trustees.
ARTICLE 14
OBLIGATIONS BY MEMBERSHIP
DUES: Every registered members shall pay a termly yearly dues of one Thousand two hundred naira ( N1,200) or three Thousand six Hundred Naira (N3,600) respectively as subscription to the association, to be paid to the zone next term september 2006.
Every registered zone shall remit to the chapter on behalf of its registered members a certain percentage of the stipulated amount to the chapter. The chapter shall without delay remit a certain amount to the state and in turn the state shall remit a certain amount to the National as the case may be.
If the association is in financial difficulties to execute any of its projects, a reasonable amount of money shall be levied on each registered member to discharge such project\s.
Remittance of funds from the zone through to National shall be on or before mid-term break of every term when paying termly, and on or before mid-term of first term of every new academic year when paying yearly.
ARTICLE 15 SUB-SECTION 5
GENERAL WELFARE
Any officer or member who is on official assignment for and on behalf of the association shall be entitled to the association's protection.
Any officer or member who suffers any harm, injury or disability in the cause of his/her assignment for and on behalf of the association shall be indemnified and the degree of indemnity shall be determined by the house.
Every act of any officer or member of association officially performed for and on behalf of the association for and on behalf of association shall bedeemed to be the act of the association.
Any officer of the association on successful completion of his/her tenure shall be awarded a CERTIFICATE OF MERIT. Ceremony shall be organized to honour him \ her the state with the full participation of all members at all levels with gift of cash and or kind provided there is no reported case of financial impropriety.
ARTICLE 15 SUB-SECTION 1
BENEFITS
Any member who loses his\her, wife\husband shall be entitled to cash donation to the tune as decided by the house.
The association shall delegate members to attend the funeral of the deceased member's wife or husband and shall be responsible for their transports to and from the venue, if the corpse is taken outside the state where the deceased resides. If the deceased is to be buried within the state where he resides there shall be mass attendance by members.
The money to be used for funding burials of members wife \ husband shall be drawn from CONTIGENCY FUND A\C which every member shall pay the sum of five Hundred Naira (5,000) yearly. Out of this sum, one hundred Naira (100) shall be retained at the zone, one Hundred Naira (100) retained at the chapter while the sum of three Hundred Naira (300) be remitted to the state and National.
Should and active member of the association suffer and loss either to his\her health in case of an accident and to the school in case of fire out break, such member shall be assisted by cash and kind as may be directed by the house depending on the extent of loss or damage.
ARTICLE 14 SUB-SECTION 2
ATTENDANCE AND BENEFIT
To qualify for full benefits under this constitution, all members shall attend a minimum of at least 2\3 of all stipulated meetings within a year from the zone to the National as the case may be. Except expressly noted by the house concerning one's inability either by illness or cases beyond one's control and this shall be communicated to the various levels of authority. He\She shall as well be financially up to date.
Any member whose attendance to meetings fall short of the shall have 75% benefits only.
Any member who has no record of attendance and is financially up to date be entitled to 50% benefits only.
ARTICLE 16
LOAN SCHEME
Loan grant shall only be operated within the chapter and zone where the officers shall attest for, beneficiaries.
ARTICLE 17
DEFAULTER
Without prejudice to the constitution, a defaulter shall be a member who fails in arrears of monthly dues and levies for a period of six months.such a member shall not be entitled to any benefit from the association.
ARTICLE 18
INVITATIONS
The association shall honour invitations ONLY on the following:
Death of a member \ child.
Marriage of a member \ child.
House warming.
Naming ceremony \ child dedication.
The association shall extend fraternal feeling in sharing of sympathy and joy with members in other invitations not listed under this constitution as the occasion shall warant. Cash donations to such invitation s shall be determined by the house resolution but there shall be mass attendance of members to such ceremonies.

ARTICLE 19 SUB-SECTION 1
BANKING
The association shall open and operate an account with any commercial bank approved by the house. The treasurer shall keep all bank pass books\cheque book.
Banking of the association's money shall be done not latter than 2 days or forty eight (48hours) working periods from the date of receipt of money and the pass book produced for scruitiny at the next Executive Council meeting.
The executive committee shall select two indigenous Banks as the association's banks. Consequently the various state, local and zonal chapters shall adopt such banks as their banks.
